Marco Ketson – Global Home Cooking
Hi, I’m Marco Ketson.
I believe cooking for yourself — or for the people you love — should feel intentional, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. It shouldn’t be complicated, and it shouldn’t be boxed into rigid rules.
I grew up in Louisiana, surrounded by food that told stories — meals shaped by culture, history, and place. Over time, that curiosity led me beyond my own kitchen and toward cuisines and techniques from around the world. What I discovered was simple but lasting: when you cook with global inspiration, even an everyday meal can feel meaningful.
Why Global Home Cooking
For a long time, I struggled to find cooking resources that fit real life.
Many cookbooks assume you’re feeding a crowd.
Others chase trends instead of flavor.
Too often, recipes feel disconnected from how people actually cook day to day.
Global home cooking is my answer.
It’s a way of bringing international flavors into real kitchens — using practical techniques, thoughtful portions, and ingredients you can actually find. It’s about meals that feel complete, grounded, and worth sitting down for.
Not because they follow rules, but because they’re made with care.
What You’ll Find Here
On this site, you’ll find global meals inspired by world cuisines, supported by practical recipes adapted for everyday home cooking.
You’ll see:
- Flavor-driven meals rooted in specific places
- Practical techniques you can use again and again
- Cultural context that explains where dishes come from and why they matter
- Adaptable recipes, whether you’re cooking for yourself or sharing at the table
Some dishes are simple. Others are layered and expressive. All of them are designed to be achievable, intentional, and satisfying in real kitchens.
My Approach
I don’t believe in rigid food rules.
I believe in:
- Cooking with curiosity
- Respecting the cultures that inspire a dish
- Making food that fits into real schedules
- Letting meals adapt to your life — not the other way around
Many of the dishes here are designed as complete meals. Others work beautifully as part of a shared table. How and when you enjoy them is always your choice.
Beyond the Recipes
Food doesn’t exist in a vacuum.
Much of my work is shaped by:
- Exploring international markets and spice shops
- Studying regional cuisines and culinary traditions
- Learning how dishes evolve as they travel
- Translating those ideas into food that works at home
Whether I’m researching a classic preparation or adapting a dish for a modern kitchen, the goal is the same: honor the flavor, respect the roots, and keep it practical.
Outside the Kitchen
When I’m not cooking or writing, you’ll usually find me:
- Exploring local and international food festivals
- Studying global cuisines and their histories
- Experimenting with spices and techniques at home
- Sharing what I learn here — and in upcoming books
If you enjoy global flavors, thoughtful cooking, and meals that feel complete without being complicated, you’re in the right place.
Welcome to Global Home Cooking.
